Volunteer for the NYS Envirothon
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
The NYS Envirothon Committee is looking for volunteers for the 2010 event which will be held on:

Activities Monitor - Wednesday 9PM - 11PM
3 volunteers needed at the Field House and 3 needed at the bonfire
Responsibilities: Supervise activities such as basketball, volleyball, Frisbee, and a bonfire.
Bus Greeter - Wednesday 8:30AM - 5PM
4 volunteers needed
Responsibilities: Direct buses to drop-off and parking areas. Welcome teams and guide them to the registration table.
Ice Cream Scooper - Wednesday 9PM
8 volunteers needed
Responsibilities: Assist in scooping and serving ice cream.
Oral Presentation Day Grader - Wednesday 8AM - 4PM
4 volunteers needed
Responsibilities: Check each oral presentation score sheet. Record scores on tally sheet.
Oral Presentation Day Judge - Wednesday 8AM - 4PM
35 volunteers needed
Responsibilities: Attend informational training meeting and then judge several presentations. Follow the judging guidelines.
Oral Presentation Escort - Wednesday 8AM - 4PM
7 volunteers needed
Responsibilities: Keep teams orderly while waiting for presentations. Show teams to the presentation room at scheduled times.
Photographer - Candid - Wednesday 9AM - all day AND Thursday 7AM - all day
1 volunteers needed on Wednesday
1 volunteer needed on Thursday
Responsibilities: Take creative pictures throughout the day, both candid and posed. Bring your own digital camera.
Photographer - Team Photos - Thursday 7AM - 1PM
2 volunteers needed (one photographer, one assistant)
Responsibilities: Take creative pictures at the photo station during the testing rotation. Bring your own 35mm camera (film provided) and digital camera.
Registration Escort - Wednesday 8:30AM - 5PM
3 volunteers needed
Responsibilities: Assist with team registration. Guide students to their dorm building, oral presentation building, etc.
Registration Table - Wednesday 8AM - 5PM
4 volunteers needed
Responsibilities: Help register teams. Give out t-shirts, packets, etc.
Snack Station - Wednesday 7AM - 1PM
1 volunteers needed
Responsibilities: Set up snack table in the registration area. Keep table filled and monitor it at all times.
Snack Table - Thursday 9AM - 3PM
3 volunteers needed
Responsibilities: Set up snack table at the testing site. Keep table filled and monitor it at all times.
Teacher Exam Review Monitor - Thursday 10:30AM - 11:30AM
2 volunteers needed
Responsibilities: Monitor teacher exam review room.
Team Escort - Thursday 7AM - 1PM
18 volunteers needed
Responsibilities: Move teams of students from one station to the next. Assist in handing out and collecting exams.
Test Collector - Thursday 7AM - 1PM
2 volunteers needed
Responsibilities: Pick up answer sheets from each station at the end of each rotation and bring them to the test-grading site. Depending on the location of the event, a vehicle may be required.
Test Site Set-Up and Tents - Wednesday 10AM
4 volunteers needed
Responsibilities: Set up folding chairs, tables, and tents.
Test Site Clean-Up and Tents - Thursday 12PM
4 volunteers needed
Responsibilities: Put away folding chairs, tables, and tents.
Test Writers - Thursday 7AM - 12:30PM
Write exam and submit to Test Writer Coordinator. Set-up your station.
Timekeeper - Competition - Thursday 7:30AM - 1PM
1 volunteer needed
Responsibilities: Time and sound horn for competition rotation.
Timekeeper - Oral Presentation - Day - Wednesday 8AM - 4:30PM
7 volunteers needed
Responsibilities: Keep accurate time during oral presentations. Must provide your own secondhand watch or other timekeeping device.
Timekeeper - Oral Presentation - Evening - Wednesday 7PM

Volunteer Check-In Table - Wednesday 8AM - 5PM AND Thursday 7AM - 9AM
